How To Train Your Brain

Mind governs our senses and this is why it’s easier for us to get distracted. But our breath controls the mind. If you’d like to control your mind, you need to learn how to operate the steering of your mind – The Breathe. Engage in Bhramari Pranayama everyday for 15-20 minutes twice or thrice daily. This will let your brain know that the steering is always in your control and therefore it will deliver what you choose is healthy for you.

Practice Pratipaskh Bhavna. It means to focus on equal and opposite healthy thought in response to any discomforting / unhealthy thought. This ancient Yogic practice helps immensely with anxiety. It may not be easy, but with practice it will become your reality. If unable to focus – start writing them down or speak it out. Writing or speaking engages more of our senses making the process to filter our thoughts and train our brain much easier and real.

● Make your brain do one uncomfortable task daily.nLike doing your laundry, cleaning dishes, getting out of the house, etc whatever you find uncomfortable. This way, the brain learns, uncomfortable does not mean it is not to be done. And the brain is trained to deliver your expectations.
● Laugh. Smile even if you have to force it. Brain picks patterns and learns to deliver habits. So if you force happiness – soon you will begin to feel it. This is the Core of Laughter Yoga.
● Meditate daily even if it’s only for 2-3 minutes. If you have too many upsetting negative thoughts or suffer from depression, anxiety, etc – avoid closed eye- meditation. Simply focus on a point on a clean wall, do star gazing, Tratak (candle meditation)
